Brand Development

Refugee Women’s Network (RWN) Refugee Women’s Network (RWN) is a 501c3 organization serving refugees and Immigrants resettled in the state of Georgia. As a marketing intern, I was tasked with promoting the Economic Empowerment initiative by designing brand collateral for teacher certification programs, assisting with grant writing, and managing job application support. These materials are intended to educate prospective clients on certain career pathways within early childhood education, equipping them with the knowledge and the tools to pursue this career path. My work combines design, communication, and advocacy to empower refugee women toward economic independence.

Goals

My goal for my 12-week internship was to promote the Economic Empowerment initiative at Refugee Women's Network. I designed brand collateral to promote both the CDA (Child Development Associate) and ICS (International Community School) Teacher Certification Program. Informational flyers were created to advertise and inform potential program participants. Additionally, I created flyers with qualifications, questionnaires, possible interview questions, and instagram posts to advertise for both programs.

Impact

I developed comprehensive brand collateral for two workforce development programs, enabling effective screening, recruitment, and participant education. As a result, 15 refugee women enrolled in the Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification program and 5 joined the Teacher Pipeline program.

Recognizing a gap in education around U.S. workplace standards, I designed and launched a new employment readiness program to address cultural differences and improve job preparedness. This included multilingual seminar slide decks and handouts tailored to a diverse audience. In addition to supporting early childhood education pathways, I helped facilitate the hiring and onboarding of 10 refugee women at Hilton Hotels using this newly developed curriculum.
