The Observatory at Skalato
This design is a solution to the prompt of designing a minimum accommodation for 4-6 people to spend a couple of nights at the Skaloto site in Sifnos. The accommodation must relate to one or more of the retaining walls currently on site – it may straddle it, rest on it, be inserted into it, or extend out from it.
This design consists of two separate structures. The top structure is entered through the back. There is a couch, shower, and padded area for sleeping that faces out towards the view. Through the side door, you are able to exit the right side of the top building and descend to a balcony. There are two points of descent, one from each side of the structures. Downstairs you can find the bathroom, with a curved wall for privacy.

The accommodation must fully lie in front of one or more of the retaining walls currently on site, and be continuously linked to the wall with which it is associated.
This collage is a variety of configurations that allows for privacy and is designed for either a group of people, or various strangers staying together, or even for a solo traveler to not feel lonely.
